As we reported on twitter yesterday, Anthony Hargrove signed his $1.2mil tender to return to the Saints for the 2010 season.
It was not unexpected -- he had only gone on one visit (to the Detroit Lions), and who wants to live in Detroit when you could live in New Orleans?
But how about this for cute: when he went in to sign the tender, he was decked out in "Who Dat" gear and carried a boombox with him. He also said he was "blessed" and "honored" to be back with the Super Bowl Champs. Let's all do a collective "awww."
Hargrove has been one of the many heart-warming stories of this season. Once a highly coveted prospect, Hargrove battled substance abuse, which ultimately resulted in a year-long season suspensions from the league. Once his suspension was over (and after successfully completing rehab), no team really wanted to even deal with Hargrove because of his checkered past. He sent out a candid video testimonial to every team in the NFL detailing his personal journey, and the Saints decided to take a chance. The rest is history! Because of his remarkable comeback he received the Ed Block Award for Courage from his fellow players and coaches.
Hargrove has also been known to engage in random acts of kindness.
We love you Anthony, and we're glad you're coming back!
